Your rent statement explained
Your Current Balance is. This amount shows the balance of your rent account in total at the statement date and whether it is pre-paid (PP), in arrears (AR) or up to date with a zero balance.
RENT - From left to right this shows: -
Date of any transactions and charges on your account
Description of the charge, method of payment i.e. Cheque, Standing Order etc. or the dates for which any housing benefit may have been payable. It also identifies any adjustments, such as Rent Refund to Tenant.
Charge is the amount of rent and service charge payable each week/month.
HB Rec'd the amounts paid by housing benefit towards your rent and service charge.
Payments of rent made by you.
Adjustments to the account. Can be added on (+) or taken off (-) such as a rent refund to tenant, overpaid housing benefit etc.
Balance of the account. AR = Arrears and PP = Pre-Paid
SP - AA Contribution Supporting People shows the charges and payments for Emergency Alarm Systems and Wardens, where applicable, and relates to payments made by the Supporting People Authorities. If you are eligible for housing benefit you should also be eligible for Supporting People payments to cover this charge. The detail under the headings is as above.
SP - Tenant Contribution This shows the charges and payments for Supporting People where the tenant is responsible for paying their own rent and service charges. The detail under the headings is as above.
Court Costs where awarded to the Association are added onto the rent account with the tenant being responsible for payment.
Bailiff Fees are also added on to the rent account following application to the court for re-possession of a property.
