Equality and Diversity
We are committed to continuously improving the services that we provide to our customers and the working environment of our staff. We want to make sure that our services are accessible to all of our customers and to make sure that we do not discriminate or act unfairly. We want people and organisations we work with to see us as promoting diversity and equality and be a leading example of good practice.
The Equality and Diversity Steering Group was formed in 2005 and the Group has co-ordinated and overseen significant progress in the area of equality and diversity.

Chevin has produced a single Equality and Diversity ‘Framework' which reflects the priorities and concerns of the communities that we serve and focuses on six areas - age, disability, gender, sexuality, ethnicity and religion.
Working with residents and staff we have produced a Disability Equality Scheme and action plan to promote equality of opportunity for people with a disability and to take steps to improve our services with the needs of disabled people in mind. For further information about our Disability Focus Group, please follow the link.
In 2007/08 we developed a Gender Equality Scheme and action plan to help promote equality between the sexes. If you would like to see a copy of any of these documents or would like to get involved, please contact Debbie Colclough on (0114) 241 7728
