CommunityRegeneration

Chevin works across Yorkshire & the Humber region and North Derbyshire in a wide cross section of communities including  former coal mining villages and towns, inner city areas, rural and isolated communities and urban estates. We provide housing for people and we also work and support residents to build sustainable communities and neighbourhoods. The group has a long history of supporting the voluntary and community sector in the communities in which it works.

We are committed to working in partnership with the community, local authorities, other social landlords, Police and other statutory agencies to ensure a co-ordinated approach to service provision and local facilities.

The Team

Janine Ingle, Regeneration Manager; Glenn Burton, Community Development Officer; Glyn Lloyd, South East Wakefield Community Planning Officer; Nicky Gibson and Faye Reading ,East Hull Community Planning Officers.

Services

The team has access to grant information at local and national level including private trusts. Funders supporting our community projects have included: the Housing Corporation, Regional Housing Board Green Corridor Funding, Hull Gateway Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder, Awards for All, Big Lottery, Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Single Regeneration Budget programme, Countryside Agency, Heritage Lottery, Local Network Fund, KPMG Foundation, and the Football Foundation.

Our tenants and residents can contact us to discuss any project ideas they have and can also obtain advice on running a group, grant applications, child protection training and policies, constitutions and so on.

Resources and Outcomes

Chevin has an excellent track record of drawing down money from governmental and charitable organisations to support local initiatives. We can also provide direct funding to support and develop local residents' groups. Our aim is to increase the well-being of our communities whether that is through providing diversions for young people, social activities for the elderly or employment and education opportunities for young families.
