East Hull Area Regeneration

East Hull forms an important area of activity for the Chevin Housing Group, the community of East Hull and for the city as a whole.

Working in close partnership with Hull & East Riding Market Renewal Pathfinder 'Gateway', private developers, community groups, local agencies, and Hull City Council, Chevin has succesfully completed the first phase of new housing at Camberwell Way and also at Ellerby Grove. In order to carefully plan the relocation of current and new tenants, Nicky Gibson (Ings) and Faye Reading (Preston Road) work with individuals and community groups. Additionally, they support community events including a very popular weekly elderly person's luncheon club.

Hull in general suffers from low housing demand and relatively low property values and the two new housing developments show what can be achieved by partnership working. They are the intial phases of a process that will shortly see a major masterplanning excercise for a large area of east Hull.

Central to the regeneration activity is the provision of low cost home ownership options for first time buyers and for those relocating.

You can get further information from Nicky Gibson or Faye Reading by calling 01482 318423.
