Lottery success at Oak Trees
Oak Trees residents' association are the latest recipients of lottery funding totalling £1,200. Residents worked with Chevin's Community Development Officer, Glenn Burton and Service Improvement Co-ordinator, Gill Welch (pictured on the right), to secure funding for day trips, new planters for the scheme and the DVD library they are developing.
Residents at the scheme have developed an active and successful residents' association that regularly hosts fish and chip suppers, bingo sessions, music nights, shopping trips and other social events.
Jacqui and Alan Hill (secretary and treasurer of the oak trees residents' association - pictured here on the left) were overjoyed by the grant from the Lottery.
"This shows what can be achieved if residents get together and with Chevin's help form a residents association. We live in an extra care scheme and are delighted to receive the funding from the lottery and can now move forward".
The money will be spent on trips to the coast etc, Lost Chord musical stimulation evenings and a DVD and CD library."
