Development programme wins second dark green light

Chevin Housing Group has upped its Housing Corporation assessment rating from one to two dark green lights thanks to a strong development programme.

The organisation's subsidiary Synergy Housing Solutions Ltd which leads the Synergy development partnership of eight other housing associations received an allocation of £38.2 million to produce 886 homes in Yorkshire and the Humber, and £700,000 to produce 20 homes in the North West, in the 2006/08 funding round.

In 2006-2008 (Year 1 & 2) Chevin achieved £40.3 million cash spend - 103% of its target and completed 869 homes.

David McKeown, Group Development & Regeneration Director said"

"We are delighted to have received this vote of confidence on behalf of the  Synergy Partnership from the Housing Corporation.  We will continue to work closely with all of our partners to ensure that our ongoing programme continues to meet or exceed the expectations of our funders.

I would like to thank everyone involved in making our contribution to the provision of affordable homes across the North of England a success".

This award adds to the existing dark green light for Viability. The Group has a total of four green lights the others covering Management and Governance. The dark green rating represents that the housing association exceeds expectations against performance targets set by the Housing Corporation.
