  • The Chevin Housing Group was formed in 2001 and consists of Chevin Housing Association Ltd (charitable) and Harewood Housing Society Ltd.
  • The oldest founder member of the Group was Ebor Housing Association formed in 1974.
  • In 2004 the Group formed the Synergy Partnership which is a regional based development partnership of associations with Chevin Housing Group as the lead partner for delivery.  Through our subsidiary Synergy Housing Solutions, we are a leading development agency and have secured £38.9m grant to develop 948 new homes over the next two years.
  • Chevin operate across the Yorkshire, Humber and North Midlands regions.
  • The Group manage 6000 rented and 1600 leasehold homes which include 750 private sector flats'.
  • Our Head office is in Wakefield, West Yorkshire but we also have staff based in Sheffield, Selby, Bridlington and Leeds.
  • An inspection by the Audit Commission in November 2006 reported that Chevin provides a good 2 star service with promising prospects for improvement.
  • We employ over 190 people in a variety of roles across the region.
  • Over 250 tenants and residents are involved in the management of the Group through a variety of opportunities.  These include tenant panels, mystery shoppers and Board membership.
  • Chevin Housing Group has been recognised as an Investor in People, committed to staff development and aim to be an employer of choice.
  • We have a dedicated Care and Repair Service for private tenants and residents who need aids and adaptations to properties to help them with their everyday tasks.
  • Over the next five years we will spend £31m upgrading our homes.
  • We have a Supported Housing Department that look after our Extra Care Schemes and Supported Housing needs.
  • We have an Anti Social Behaviour Team who work closely throughout the region with Police and Community representatives to reduce Anti-social behaviour and crime on housing estates.
  • We have a dedicated free phone repairs enquiry line.
  • Our most recent surveys show that 83% of tenants are satisfied with the services we provide and we have a commitment to continual improvement of our services.
